IBBA Conference Recap: Staying up to date with the Industry
International Business Brokers Association 2025 annual conference was held in Orlando, Florida May 15-18 and the Liberty Group was there!
The International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) is the largest international not-for-profit association for Business Brokers with over 3,000 members from around the world. Each year the IBBA brings together its members from around the world to offer education, networking, and camaraderie.
This year, Stewart Guthrie, Kathryn Guthrie, and Kelly Higgins of The Liberty Group joined more than 950 attendees at this flagship event. The conference offered valuable sessions on best practices, current market trends, and insights from industry leaders, all within an environment designed to foster strong connections among brokers, dealmakers, and service providers.

Stewart Guthrie, co-owner of the Liberty Group, was recognized with the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation. The CBI is a prestigious designation exclusive to the IBBA that identifies an experienced and dedicated business broker. It is awarded to intermediaries who have proven professional excellence through verified education as well as exemplary commitment to our industry.
Kathryn Guthrie received the IBBA Chairman’s Circle Award on behalf of the Liberty Group team for closing one or more qualified business deals amounting to $3 million and above in total purchase price in 2024. The Chairman’s Circle Award celebrates those who have demonstrated exceptional skill in applying the knowledge and standards of excellence promoted by the IBBA.
The Liberty Group is honored to be recognized by the IBBA and continues to be committed to industry leadership and excellence. Plans are already in the works for next year’s IBBA Conference in Minneapolis, MN.
